One night I went out with a few people late in Brighton to do posters for my mates brand. We got a bag and went over to my mate Ben's and strapped a few joints and just walked around in the cold with a bleach bottle full of homemade paste and a broken paintbrush. I was lean as hell just running around slapping shit on walls. We ran out so went back to Leo's and listened to ODB and smoked more, watching some documentary about South Park. I woke up to that grim musky smoke smell with my eyes like glued shut.

2.  who gives you the best advice? such as....

Mates wise, my friend Sawley. He's one of those people who seems constantly rooted to the ground, never seems to lose check of who he is and shit, so you know whatever he tells you is legit. If he says to stay with her, stay with her. If he says stay away from her, it's probably because he got clap from her first.

3. would you like to be famous? why?

I'd love to be recognised for something, yeh, but I wouldn't want to have to associate with all the shitheads that plague the newspapers. Fame has a really twisted definition now that basically means 'is heard of or at least was once'. I'd want to be famous for a great achievement or for doing something that I love doing, like making music or writing or whatever.

2. Most worn item of clothing in your wardrobe?

At the moment it's this black sheer Primark spaghetti strap womens night dress. I got it for £2 in a charity. RIp off.

3. What would you talk about if you had 3 minutes on the evening news?

Young people in London and the stereotypes around them. What needs to be done and what doesn't. Or something along them lines.

1. What item of clothing would you like to encourage your dad to wear?

I'd like to encourage my dad to wear more gillet puffa-jackets because he looks far too cool wearing the bright orange one that he currently loves. He needs to expand his colours and peacock some more.

2. Who was the last person you bought a present for? what was it?

The last person I bought a present for was my housemate Fran. I bought her some more flowers to keep in the house because I know she loves the flowers, especially when they die and dry out.

3. Care to share any life changing moments?

3. My biggest life changing moment recently was my first double dose of bad luck. My girlfriend whom I loved broke up with me (amicably) and the day after I tore my ligaments off of the bottom of my leg more or less disabling me for 6 months and filling my right ankle full of metal to hold it together. It made me think more about what I wanted to photograph in the future and more importantly how I wanted to photograph. I'd become a bit lazy and it's forced me to appreciate the medium a lot more. As for the girlfriend we're still good friends who genuinely love each other as friends.

1. when was the last time you went to church?

From a young age I never really liked going to church, I felt that I didn’t really fit in to the sessions or biblical story telling at Sunday school,them times my incentive was the biscuits and sweets at the end of service but yeah the last time I went to church was April this year, it was my uncle’s funeral.

2. What shoes have you got on today?

Today I am dropping my white and cool grey Air Max 97’s.At times it seems they get a hold of me simply because they are the kind of creps you take offence easily over if someone steps on them, lucky for some I am a humble guy with a high foot stepping on anger management threshold.

Spending too much money, what I regret most weeks

Gotta be a no, but if I've decide on the off chance to look smart that day, then maybe

3. If you could make a film...what would it be about?
I think I'd film a documentary. I'd base it on me and my friends taking some amazing road trip through America or something, like a cliche American teen film. The soundtrack would be sick though...

1. When was the last time you danced?

 The last time I danced was this Saturday at WASP, and then later at Bang Bang, but I'm always dancing anyway. Always.

2. Who do you spend most of your time with?

I spend most of my time with my family, I work 8 'til 5 so there's not much time to do a lot afterwards - unless I'm in the pub.

3. What was your first job ever?

My first ever job was working as an assistant for a delivery driver, I had just left school and it was actually a wicked job. I got to see a lot of London, places you wouldn't get to experience just walking about of a daytime, and that was just delivering parcels!

Chuck D of Public Enemy best summarized this employment of wealth as "Man, I work at McDonald's, but in order for me to feel good about myself I got to get a gold chain in order to impress a sister." This concept is not solely reserved to Hip Hop. Nowadays I think looking better than we live is still routine but what is perhaps more valid within say streetwear and sneaker culture is trying to impress another "brother" as opposed to a female. It illustrates that tension created when even within the same group an individual seeks to be part of it by buying into a brand but yet elevated from it by buying the one item that no one else can get hold of.

Are individuals seeking to differentiate themselves from mainstream society or are they striving to be understood by their own subcultures? Probably a bit of both but I’m guessing the people within subcultures don't really care whether what they communicate is misread outside of their immediate surroundings. They would rather appeal to a smaller number of people who have the knowledge to understand where they are coming from. It is probably the most sound approach because we can’t communicate a single message to everyone. So in short… sacrifice appeal to the mainstream and don’t watch the haters.
